Screening, Evaluation, and Treatment for Children and Adults

Warwick Valley Speech Therapy offers the following services in our office located in the heart of the School District in beautiful Warwick, NY:

Free Screenings and Educational Talks: We provide a FREE 15-30 minute phone consultation or in-person screening to determine if an assessment would be beneficial for you or your family. We are happy to provide group pre-school screenings for children age 3 years or older at local daycare or pre-school settings. Pediatric Speech TherapyWe are also available to provide parent/staff in-services on speech-language development or any other related topic as requested by your organization or group.

Evaluations: Full assessments are conducted in hour-long sessions and may include standardized testing, observation during free-play or interview/conversation, and parent/client report. Assessment results identify the problem, if one is present, and determine the current developmental age of function (for children) as well as the severity and nature of the deficit. Recommendations, including whether therapy is appropriate as well as the frequency and length of treatment, will be given. A full report with an outlined treatment plan is provided within two weeks, and a copy can be sent to your doctor on request.

Therapy: Therapy sessions for children are generally 30 minutes in length, but may be longer for older children. Sessions for adults may be 30-60 minutes in length. To ensure the highest quality of therapy, services are always provided on a one-on-one basis and always accompanied by home practice programs to allow for optimal carry-over of new skills into the “real world” in the least amount of time.
